Pool Party FAQ’s:

How do I schedule a pool party?
Click the pool party form on the website and fill in all the necessary information. Be sure to include the date and time of your party along with the name of the pool in which the party will take place.

Will someone contact me to confirm?
Yes, your pool party form will be submitted to the Human Resource Director by email and someone from the HR office will contact you within 48 hours to confirm the date and time of your party.

Who should I call if I have a question?
Please call Christy Wahl, Sweetwater’s Human Resource Director for questions concerning pool parties. Christy can be reached at 770.939.5757 ex. 104. christywahl@sweetwaterpools.net

How do I pay for the additional lifeguards for my pool party?
You have two different options for payment. (1.) Mail a check to the Sweetwater office (Address can be found on the home page). (2.) Pay with a credit card over the phone when we call to confirm your party (We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc).

Should I give my payment to the lifeguard for my party?
NO, Please do not give your payment to the lifeguard or leave a check at the pool for someone to pick up. To avoid lost or misplaced checks all payments must be submitted directly to our office.

Should I tip the lifeguard(s) working my party?
It is not required to tip the lifeguard(s) working your party, but it is definitely appreciated if you feel they did a good job. Compensation could be money, but if you have any left-over food from your party, that’s always a nice tip as well!!!

What is Sweetwater’s cancellation policy in case of inclement weather on the day of my party?
If the weather is looking bad and you are considering canceling your party we ask for at least 3 hours notice. Provided we are given ample notice to contact the lifeguards, you will not be charged. If it is a weekend and you cannot reach someone in the office, please call the main office line and dial ex. 302 to leave a message on the emergency pager. Please do not assume your party has been cancelled unless you hear back from someone in the HR department.

How much notice does Sweetwater need to be able to staff my party with a lifeguard?
Your pool party form and payment must be submitted AT LEAST 1 week prior to the date of your party. We need plenty of notice to contact the guards and find someone to work who isn’t already scheduled. Even if you aren’t sure of all the party details (ie. number attending) go ahead and submit the form. It is easier to tell a guard not to show up than it is to find a guard to work at the last minute.

Why does Sweetwater require additional guards for a party even if my pool already has a lifeguard on duty?
Party guards are required to cover the additional bather load. If your party brings 30 extra people to the pool, in addition to the regular number of people already there, we want to ensure the safety of all involved and would rather have an extra pair of eyes watching the water.

Do I need to schedule an additional guard if most of the people attending my party are members of the pool?
Yes, in most cases you will. Again, we are trying to ensure the safety of everyone at the pool and having an additional lifeguard will provide extra coverage.

Does Sweetwater provide lifeguards for a private party at a residence?
NO, for insurance purposes, our lifeguards can only guard at the pools we are contracted to manage.

What is the minimum number of people I can have without requiring a party guard?
Parties having 12 or fewer swimmers do not require an additional lifeguard. This number may vary depending on the party or the pool in which the party is to take place.
