What’s the Minimum Age to Become a Lifeguard?

Sweetwater Pools requires that all of our lifeguards be 15 years or older to complete out lifeguard course and work with our swimming pool management company. Pay rate depends on location and experience.

What will My Job Responsibilities Be?

As an employee of Sweetwater Pools, you’ll be expected to:

  • Ensure the safety of all pool patrons with a friendly and respectful attitude. This involves watching the water to prevent injuries and perform proper safety techniques in the event of an emergency.
  • Check the water chemistry of the pool and immediately report any problems. You’re also responsible for keeping your pool clean.
  • You’ll also need to clean the bathrooms, pool deck and vacuum the pool, along with adjusting and monitoring pool chemicals.

How Do I Become a Certified Lifeguard?

To become a certified lifeguard, you can take the American Red Cross certification course or StarGuard course (please go to Available Classes for class dates and times available). Our lifeguard course covers crucial safety procedures, including first aid and CPR.

What Positions are Available?

What Do I Need to Bring In For My Job Interview?

You must bring in your driver’s license, work permit, social security card, and your lifeguard/CPR certification cards if you already certified.

What Do You Wear At Work?

You’ll be expected to wear lifeguard t-shirts (we provide you with two), whistle, visor or hat, hip pack and lifeguard suit.
